My name is Sarah Elizabeth. Sarah: /særə/ noun, a name meaning "pure" and "happy" in Muslim, "princess" in Hebrew, & "childless" in the Bible. At my Baptism, the priest said "Ah, Sarah Elizabeth. Both women who bore children late in life." 24 years later, my husband and I were rendered infertile thanks to metastatic testicular cancer. Thus began the story of a modern-day Sarah experiencing infertility as a young Catholic wife. We are now 29 with the mountain of cancer behind us, and the ocean of infertility stretching out before us.
